Each of the 15 units in Das Leben von Michael Koch consists of three parts: a section of the story which follows the life of the main character and his family, the questions, and a cloze test. The story is told in simple, easy to understand language with a view to reinforcing the most frequently used words. The usage of everyday vocabulary, often repeated throughout the book for enhanced word retention, helps the student avoid frustration that more cumbersome words could produce.
This book, with slight variations, is also available in English (The Life of Michael Hall) and Spanish (La vida de Miguel Alamino). For the purposes of self-study, it comes with Answer Key.
